EFFECTS FOR SOCIAL PHENOMENON

First of all, I just want to ask all of you what music means? Well, how it effect us and our life is depends on the individual himself.

Music, had never fail to impress me. It works in many ways that can effects us. If we are too carried away by music, then our life will be meaningless! The sane thing to do is you can enjoy the music but in the same time you not being carried away by the fluidity, melody and symphony of the music.

People nowadays especially teenagers sometimes are influenced by the music. It is good to love music, but to make music as the only motive in our life, it is not wish to do so.

Perhaps music can change our lifestyle and change our perspective to a better life. Music is not a priority in life. There are many more essential things that we have to consider and develop. Lastly, how it effects us, all this will remain secret until there is one day where the something will come to an end.

CAUSE OF PHENOMENON

Music do affects us in various ways, maybe wondrous or strange! The cause of this phenomenon actually depends on us. Well, there will be no music if we don’t create them, right? What I would stress here is the cause for why music exist is, remain in ourselves.
Men create music why?

Actually, the secret remains unknown. As for me, I would say that men create music because they love music! inspiration. Music is a threat for the mind and lift for heart! It is a verity able gold mine of insight and Other than that, it is the mechanism that can reduce your stress, lift your spirits and connect you to healing wisdom and the power of optimism! Music is for everyone.

WHAT IS MUSIC

Music is one of human’s natures; it is something that words cannot even explain. It is a combination of feeling, creativity and many more things is that cpmpletely describe what is music means!

Music is something make us cry and happy. Music also can heal our wounds, give us sereniry and calming which makes life is absolutely meaningless without something that is called musical.

As for me, music has many meaning, since I love music so much. Music is my soul. It is also as a way for me to tell people what I feel inside, and believe it or not, I can really hear to music all day without doing anything! You know, simple words although can make great songs! Music actually is something that can be said as a remembrance. A memory that brings some unforgettable stories. Me too, had really learns that how music affects me and how it leaves some footprints in my heart. Well, whatever it is, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The only thing I know is, music is always present as long as we a little heart to perceve what is music means!

CAUSE OF REALITY TV

Of course, I know as well as anyone that reality television generally has no more than a glimmer of reality in it. It is pretty difficult to claim that something is real when its cast are surrounded by cameras with millions of viewers watching every episode. Would those Malaysian Idol contestants act the same if there were no cameras? I strongly doubt it but I suppose without them we wouldn't know so you can't really win. No reality show can even come close to the layered and intelligent comedy that is shown with the likes of The Simpsons or Family Guy but both genres certainly seem to have a role in the televisual marketplace.

The beauty of the reality show is that it leaves the viewer feeling like a part of the experience, something that the intelligent comedy' shows cannot provide. I'm sure everybody has found themselves willing on their favourite American Idol contestant at some point and being distraught when they get eliminated. The sitcom and drama writers must be praying for a reality bust or perhaps they are planning a real' version of CSI which would be interesting.
The problem that we have, is that the reality show viewing generation have grown up watching the likes of The Real World and consider it to be as, if not more, legitimate than any drama or sitcom that is on the screen. It has meant that TV is entering an overkill mode with the huge number of dating and talent shows springing up from all over the place. Personally I think hey should do celebrity bear wrestling, that would be great but I can't really see it getting aired. One day perhaps.

To be honest, I don't really blame them for giving reality the preference. Reality TV took advantage whilst drama was in a rut and has been able to maintain its position by capturing that young audience. Some of the reality concepts are absolutely ridiculous but they get people to sit up and pay attention. Just look at the comments of Mike Fleiss, creator of The Bachelor franchise who said, "I like to make a show where people say, you can't put that on TV, then I put it on TV."

The case against reality TV is of course mainly about morals and ethics. It is very difficult to defend against the outright deception of shows like Joe Millionaire. On top of that much of it involves women degrading themselves in the process, doing anything they can to hook up with the rich men as the old stereotype goes. I'm not sure that this gives a very good impression of our Western society. Romance and feminism say that a man's money shouldn't matter. Joe Millionaire puts up a $50 million that you're wrong. In the same way, everybody thinks they are talented until they come face to face with Simon Cowell. Isn't there just something a bit wrong with the fact that so many people are enjoying watching others get their heart broken, being told they have nothing going for them and breaking down into tears?

What reality TV brings are quintessential stories of ambition and desperation. It can be unsettling and heartbreaking but gives a much better perspective on life than anything you might see coming out of ER where it is difficult to empathise with a story that has been imaginatively created by a bunch of writers. If anyone remembers the story of Lady Tiger on American Idol who had taken up a second job as a boxer after her husband was killed leaving her as a single parent. Her story showed defiance, despair and dignified resolve all in the space of two minutes. It gives a haunting slice of life and although we might not like it, that is reality TV.

HOW TO PREVENT THIS PROB??

It was Edward VIII as Prince of Wales who memorably said 'Something must be done', as he observed the grinding poverty and desperate queues of the unemployed in 1930s Britain. His words are particularly apt when it comes to the debate about the need for an independent regulatory body--with sharp legal teeth--to monitor the ethics of reality television shows that use vulnerable families and infants to boost ratings in a cut-throat media world.

'Something must be done' goes the cry, only to be met with a quiet chorus of hand-wringing from regulators and others with influence in this field. Broadcasting regulator Ofcom rejected all 752 complaints about Channel Four's Bringing up baby, which featured the controversial Claire Verity. Children's commissioner for England Professor Sir Al Aynsley-Green told Unite/CPHVA activist Christine Bidmead that it would not be in his 2008 work programme when she broached the subject at the annual conference in the autumn.

It is not that regulators and supervisory authorities cannot produce hard-hitting reports when they want to--look at the National Audit Office or House of Commons select committees. This issue has already attracted more than 3600 signatures on the Downing Street website, so what can be done to encourage regulators to take it seriously?

There may be scope in exploring the possibility of a private member's bill from a committed MP. Admittedly, this is tricky to achieve--the MP has to finish high up in the parliamentary ballot to have any chance for such a bill to be successful, and it is a lengthy process that needs tacit government support. The most famous modern example of a high-profile private member's bill reaching the statute book was David Steel's Abortion Act in 1967. If this route is not possible, more pressure should be applied to regulators. They can be shifted--in January, Ofcom banned junk food adverts during television programmes aimed at children under 16.

There is now new Ofcom guidance for programme makers dealing with children, however Unite/CPHVA is concerned that this is not mandatory. It is only the threat of legal sanctions that will make TV companies take note--they are not philanthropists, and it is ratings that are paramount to them.

The campaign has great momentum, generated by Unite/CPHVA and similar-minded organsations such as the NSPCC, and will be strongly pursued this year. Unlike Edward VIII, the regulatory authorities should not be allowed to abdicate their responsibilities.

My GodNess..

Are you addicted to reality tv..do the reality tv gives such a big impact to yourself? Oh my Godness...you are really addicted to the reality show..in my previous post, i already talked about reality tv and the effects. Honest to say, when i was write and type my comment and my opinion on this blog i was wondering what i'm going to say on this board but as i look through to the images that shows above, then the idea to ask and talks about the addicted of reality tv then come across in my mind. As you can see the images, the man is getting angry when the channel doesn't show the reality tv programme on a screen, now my question is have you ever been in a situation like that, getting angry when the channels doesn't show the programs that you want to watch, be careful because it is one of the sign that you are really addicted to reality show. Honestly, i have an experienced with that kind of situation, well i like music and i believe that everybody also love music, am i right? Each time i watch television, i will choose those kinds of reality tv programme because i enjoyed watching them but then i realized that it doesn't give me any information, yet the reality tv programme is on of the entertaining programme and of course to entertain people but do we realize that it is doesn't give us any information about our surrounding. We neglect the informative programme such as discovery channel and planet animals merely for the reality tv programme. Well, this habit really give an effect on me, the addicted of reality show makes me exclude the benefits of watching those kinds of informative programme or channels. As a society,we should concern about what happens surround us and what happen in our country but then the enjoyable of watching reality tv makes us exclude about the phenomenon and things that happen surround us. How many of us donated our credit for helping those people which really need our help rather than "donated" our credit for voting the contestants in a reality shows? I think this is the time we should think about that.

Effects of Reality TV..

Are they deserve to get a title as a winners?

The phenomenon of using a sms and telephone to vote for you favourite contestant is a one of a scenario that happen among our people today. The presence of reality tv programme have give a big impact to our society today not only for children but also among young adults. When my group decide to choose this topic as our main topic for our blog, first thing that across in my mind is how interesting this topic that we will discuss and it was a coincidence because i am a fan of Reality Tv programme especially in an area of music because most of the contestant have their own ability and talents. But without our realize that these reality tv programmes leads to the some effects to our peoples . People vote for their favourite contestant and for this purpose they willing to sacrifice their money as long as the contestant will remains in a competition, in addition of that they also willing to waste a lots of money to buy a reload cards and this kind of attitude will not give any benefit to them. Are the contestant that their vote is deserve to be called as a winner for the competition? Well most of our people today just look at the appearance of the contestant and not the talents that their have, what is the point of making someone becomes popular but then we will waste our own money for that purpose. Not only in financial, our teenagers also will follow on what are their idol are wearing of and to make them becomes same as the idol, then they will waste their time hanging around at the shopping complex and try to get the same appearance. Some of our teenagers sometimes will consider the contestant in a reality programme as one of their idol and fashion icon and then will lead them to the wrong ways.

Reality Tv

Hello everyone...do you a fan of reality Tv programme? well I was a fanatic fan of reality tv programme especially the famous one "Akademi Fantasia". Actually reality tv is a programme that has been presented by using a sms vote and judges evaluation in order to produce new talents not only in the field of music but also in various fields. In Malaysia itself, there are many kinds of reality programme such as Malaysian Idol, Astro Superstars, LG superstars, Gangstarz, So you think you can dance and also there a kind of reality tv programme of dating shows for example the programme reality tv of "Mencari Cinta", it was a reality tv programme which presented for the purpose of find you Mr.Right through the programme reality tv and allowed you to date with the person that has been participated on that programme. Reality television covers a wide range of programming formats, from game or quiz shows which resemble the frantic, often demeaning shows produced in Japan in the 1980s and 1990s (such as Gaki No Tsukai), to surveillance- or voyeurism-focused productions such as Big Brother. Such shows frequently portray a modified and highly influenced form of reality, with participants put in exotic locations or abnormal situations, sometimes coached to act in certain ways by off-screen handlers, and with events on screen sometimes manipulated through editing and other post-production techniques.

EFFECT OF REALITY TV (POSITIVE)

INTRODUCTION

Now, we would like to talk about positive effect of reality tv program. However, we’re going to give more attention in music or entertainment reality tv. Our explanations might be wrong to certain person, but this is our opinion.

INSTANT CELEBRITY

Reality television has the potential to turn its participants into national
celebrities, at least for a short period. This is most notable in talent-search programs such as the Idol series, which has spawned music stars in many of the countries in which it has aired. Many other shows, however, such as Akademi Fantasia and One In A Million, have made at least temporary celebrities out of their participants, some participants have then been able to parlay this fame into media careers. For example, Vience, stant on Akademi Fantasia season 1 , later became a host on morning talk show on TV2; and Faizal, who appeared on One In A Million, has gone on to become a television host and actor.

NEW TALENT

Music reality tv program is a good way to find new talented artist. People who joint the show must be chosen from talented person and going to compete each other to find the best of the best. Our industry (entertainment) need fresh and young people to develop the industry and find new idea and new concept.

EFFECT OF REALITY TV (NEGATIVE)

INTRODUCTION

Now, we would like to talk about negative effect of reality tv program. However, we’re going to give more attention in music or entertainment reality tv. Our explanations might be wrong to certain person, but this is our opinion. Don’t take serious but take it as information and try avoid it is you are reality tv addict.

MONEY

People, especially teenagers spent lots of money for reality tv program. We can see a lot of reality tv program adverts their show on tv and ask people to vote for their candidates such as in music reality tv program using electronic media such as hand phone and internet. People, who watching this program will influence with this adverts and vote for the candidates which they like. However, facts have proven that teenagers were the largest amount of people who always vote and support this program. Using Short Messages Service or SMS and phone call, they spent a lot of money to vote the candidates. We know that cost per SMS was not cheap and they have to try it again and again if they want to vote using phone call. People waste a lot of money but communication company and reality tv organizer profit the money.

TIME

It’s a REALITY TV, so we have to watch it live if we want to know what going happen next. We can see the repeated broadcast program, but the fell is different. What we’re going to say here is people have to spent their time to watch the program right on time and they can’t go anywhere at that time. They have to stay in front of television and wait the program till the end. Usually, people which like to watch reality tv always spent time watching tv and don’t like to go out. They want to watch the program and don’t care if they have to wait it for whole day and forget the other works.

HEALTHINESS

Watching television make us stay in front of television. Waiting for next episode or session of reality tv especially, make us fell don’t like to make any movement even to go to toilet or kitchen. We have to wait until the commercial break and hurry up coming back after the break. Usually when we watching television, we don’t have enough time to go anywhere such as kitchen, so we just any junk food if we’re hungry. We don’t care if the junk food has nutrition or not. We just take it when we were watching because we don’t have enough time to prepare some nutrition food. If we are always taking junk food or food without enough nutrition, it will affect our body.

POLITICAL

Why political?? Teenagers are the next leader. What going happen to our country if our next leader still in fantasy and live in fantasy world. Their world bringing to fantasy because of reality tv such as entertainment reality tv program. They watching the program and have dreaming that they will be a part of candidates. They don’t care about others and just dreaming. They want to joint the program too and become famous. If all the teenagers have dreaming to be an artist, so who going to be a leader? Who going to develop country??

CAUSES OF THIS PHENOMENON (MUSIC REALITY TV)

ECONOMICAL

Economical can be a fact increasing this phenomenon of music reality tv among local television. Facts have proven that company and organizer which arrange this program will profit a lot of money. They get money from people who watching the show and sending SMS to vote candidates they like. How come people want to stop the program if they still and will get lots of money from the show?? This cause make this phenomenon (music reality tv program) on local television can’t stop and still available until today.

Another point is sponsors. Do we have any other way to stop this prob? If they still get sponsors for their program, sure they would not stop doing the show again. It’s difficult right? We would like to prevent it among local television, but another side like to sponsor it. So, if we want to block this show, we have to block the sponsors first.

to be continue......

RELIGION

Religion is defined as a system of beliefs based on humanity's attempt to explain the universe and natural phenomena, often involving one or more deities or other supernatural forces and also requiring or binding adherents to follow prescribed religious obligations. So when some companeis want to do bussnies in other they must know about their culture because that very important for their culture. For example in Malaysia when some compenies want do their bussnies they must accpect Islamic culture because Malaysia is Islamic country. They can’t do activity or advertisment as they want. Religion very important in taking part in bussnies because religions teach people how to take a good ethic to communicate with our environtment

In other country like America they don’t accept certain religion coz they have their own beliefs. They have their own freedom to choose any religion and beliefs that they think its right for their life. That why they can behave whatever they want althought they might be wrong. America is a country that really takes care about their own country development so they don’t see religion as a right based approach to development so in America they think that religion and development should be separate and can’t go together. That why when they came to other country they can’t adapt with their culture because they have different belief and cultures.

In conclusion I think that religion is very important in our life because its have their own mechanisme to produce a good ethic especially when involved in bussnies world.

REALity TV

Before we run trough our next question, lets me give you more info about reality tv. Reality television is a genre of television programming which presents purportedly unscripted dramatic or humorous situations, documents actual events, and features ordinary people instead of professional actors. Although the genre has existed in some form or another since the early years of television, the term reality television is most commonly used to describe programs of this genre produced since 2000. Documentaries and non fictional programming such as news and sports shows are usually not classified as reality shows.
Reality television covers a wide range of programming formats, from game or quiz shows which resemble the frantic, often demeaning shows produced in Japan in the 1980s and 1990s. Such shows frequently portray a modified and highly influenced form of reality, with participants put in exotic locations or abnormal situations, sometimes coached to act in certain ways by off-screen handlers, and with events on screen sometimes manipulated through editing and other post-production techniques. But, in our blog, we are going to discuss about music reality televisyen. This program cause a lot of effact to us specially to teenagers.

Nowadays, we can watch a lot of reality tv program even in local television or international television. People todays being more relevant. Music

Hello everyone, are you fancy about music...what kind genre music that you like...well on this board and as an introduction to our topic which is Reality TV, i would like to give some introduction of music and how music can be one of a influences in our life, later I also will discuss how music can be a part of the causes of Reality TV in our country and our industries. Music is a combination of sounds which gathering in one time and music also comes from the combination of various kind of music instruments. It is when you play a piano or harmonica or other music instruments, the melody or ryhms that you hear from the instruments can be one of a music. Music comes from varies type of genre, it can be pop, R&B, jazz, traditional, rock, and Indi music or also known as independent music. Each generation have a different kind of favourite music that they like, the folk perhaps like to hear a softly melody, traditional or a rock and roll music while a new generation youth and young adults perhaps likes to hear R&B, jazz and INDI music as well as rock, time has change and people also might change, this is what i heard from my friends when i ask them about music that they like. In our country, music becomes an incomes for the industries, every single years we can hear a new genre of music comes out with their new music and how they modified the music into something new which i think it is good for our industries.

Cultural Intelligence

Based on the class discussion on cultural intelligence, do you think that you have CI? Give reasons…

I think I have a little more or some information about it on the class discussion. I think also, all people actually have CI maybe they know about their CI on formal or informal educations. Today very easy to get the information about CI. We can get more about CI on reading, watching tv, internet, paper, magazine and so on. At tv we can see many more the move show about cultural in the world so we can study about another cultural.

Cultural Intelligence

Well, hello everyone..i think that i have a cultural intelligence but it's limited among our country since we live in a multicultural country. For me, cultural intelligence is not enough when you know about their language but also they tradition and social norms. I am Dusun Sungai so in my culture the practice and my believe might be different with other culture. Cultural intelligence is so important for us to learn about it, not only for additional knowledge but also for knowing and understand other people culture. We live in one roof and we live in a multicultural society, have a little bit knowledge or a lot about other people culture or social norms might help us to know them better and also avoid those misunderstanding among us. But for me, cultural intelligence not only can be learn among our society but also from the other part of world because for me it will be more exciting and fun when you can communicate with Japanesse, Koreans and many people from all aroud the world.

:: Cultural Intelligence ::

Yes, I think I have cultural intelligence but still not enough. Why did I say that? Because I am Malaysian. I live in a big community such as Chinese, Indian and of course Malay. Every community have their own culture and have been practice in their lifestyle. I also. as a Malay, I have my own culture and practice it everyday. However, even we have our own culture, we still have to learn about other's culture. It's show how respect us to them. We can"t live in community. If we don't know about other's culture, we might be doing something that can cause misunderstanding and quarrel among us.

Cultural Intelligence

My answer ia no.. because my knowledge about cultural noy enough. i just know some about knowladge about cultural especially international cultural. but i alwalys follow about another cultural especially chienes and indian cultural. i must know some of their cultural because i live in complex community in university. as a student i serrounded by other students come another race. so i must respect our cultural and i must know some their cultural. but for behavioral skills i don't know. i just learan it informal with my friend, and i just read some article about other cultural. for me last class give me more imformation about cultural. ...
